Mazda is extending the warranty on their shiny, melting dashboards. [vehicles] exposed to severe environmental conditions including high ambient temperature and humidity, the material used in the crash pad may deteriorate over time. If there is prolonged exposure and deterioration, the crash pad could develop a sticky surface.

Once this happens, you need to get the dash replaced. The extended warranty means you'll have more time – 10 years with no mileage limitation.

The offer applies to:

  • 2009-2013 Mazda6 vehicles built February 4, 2008 through August 24, 2012.
  • 2010 Mazda3 vehicles built October 7, 2008 through April 28, 2010.

Mazda notes the offer "does not apply to crash pads that are discolored, warped, or split."
